Treatments at Meyersdal Chiropractic Clinic include, but are not limited to:

Manipulations

Also known as a chiropractic adjustment. It is defined as a high velocity, low amplitude, force applied to a specific joint or segment. The function of the manipulation is to realign joints to decrease pain and increase range of motion. An audible noise or ‘crack’ may be heard as a result of expansion of gas from the joint.

Soft tissue therapy

To relieve muscles spasms and release tension in the connective tissue that surrounds each muscle and also treat associated muscle injuries.

Chiropractic for babies

Helps with faster healing after birth and relieves some of the more common issues that plague many newborns.

Dry needling

Releases trigger points in muscles by increasing blood flow causing removal of waste products in muscles to release muscle spasms.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave is a modality used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions specifically focussing on tendon and other sports injuries. Examples of some conditions treated by shockwave are, but not limited to: plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinopathy, shin splints, medial and lateral epicondilitis, calcific supraspinatus tendonitis and patellar tendonitis.

Exercises and stretches

To restore and maintain joint stability and mobility after treatment in order to sustain the decreased pain in the future. Exercises are used to strengthen weak muscles and stretches are used to relax tight muscles.

Joint bracing/strapping/taping

To support sprained joints or injured muscles and other painful areas as they heal.

Advice
